My friend nakedjen has been baking up a storm: These cookies are not what you think. You know there's a story. If only I could hand you one to enjoy while you sit back and read.... [Read More]

How ship-able are they? You're from Santa Cruz, right? I'm just south of Stockton, so it wouldn't be a long trip! I'd buy 'em.

Coooookies!!!!!! You just said my favorite word!

hrmph. i've been told that i bake the.best.vegan.chocolate.chip.cookies in the world.

although the chocolate chip walnut ones are really my personal best.

not that i'm doubting your baking prowess, which i understand is legendary.

back to lurking.

Everyone needs to know that these are the best cookies I have ever eaten. Ever. In my whole life. I've eaten lots of cookies in my life, homemade, store bought, soft, crunchy, all differnt kinds. These are the best. Better than my nana's (sorry nana) better than Mrs. Fields (she should be so lucky as to make cookies that taste this good) better than my own homebaked cookies and many people have enjoyed my cookies over the years (Pinky and Sassy, shut up!). They are that good. They should be in stores. They should be in my cookie jar so I don't have to bake. Happiness is knowing that they are less than one mile from my home. Life is good. And it's goodness comes in the form of a yummy and good for you cookie.

Gail

I want some too!!!! And BTW I adore your cookie logo!!!!!

MMmmmm. Chocolate cake. *lick*

i heart wheat-free cookies, too.
and you!

Is it wrong that I want to lick the screen? I think it might be wrong...but oh my goodness, those cookies look devine!

So, I'll be over tomorrow about 11ish! lol kidding of course although tea and cookies may not be a bad way to spend an afternoon. Are you going to the audition in SF now that you're not going to the Hollywood by the Bay thing? Woohoo! I was thinking we should audition for Wheel of Fortune on the 25th. I bet they'd pick you!

hugs,
Gail

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies are my favorite. Absolute favorite. The rank right up there with chocolate/chocolate cake. So when you ask who wants some I hope you see me at the back of the class with my arm stretched high above my head, look closely, my fingers are wiggling too!

Will you be blogging about auditions soon?

kiss.

I have to confess that the cookies that were actually sold for $1.00 on tour were far more substantial than those cookies pictured. About twice the size. I wanted people to really feel like they were getting their money's worth. Also, the ones on tour had oatmeal in them. The ones last night, do not. Because when I went to make them, I realized I was out of organic baby oats...so I just didn't include it this time around.

I also have developed recipes for vegan oatmeal raisin cookies and the most sinful vegan dense chocolate cake. It's so rich it doesn't even need frosting.

The recipe can't be shared. Mostly because I have no idea of exact measurements. I do everything by feel and smell and texture and taste.

Lori, I could attempt a wheat-free version just for you. And Alicia, I want to know more about this middle America tour. I think I'm ready to take this act back on the road.

LaVonne, stay tuned for news on the Apprentice. I've decided these cookies are my secret weapon to get me on the show.

the cookies look amazing. is there a recipe to be shared? i have an excellent (albeit, sugar-filled) reverse choc chip cookie recipe that I would swap for it.

damn--i just gave up sugar! i know, they're fruit-juice sweetened, but it's still sugar in the end, so to speak. i know i wouldn't be able to stop once i got started. damn damn damn!

alicia is right, maybe your time *is* now--go for it!

btw--how did the apprentice audition go?

I want some! I'll buy a batch :) You can mail them, or bring them this direction if you ever find yourself in North Texas. I'd take you and your cookies with me on my middle-America tour if I could! (it is going to be great fun)

I think you should approach stores and sell them. Whole Foods, at least the ones here, sell items made locally, as does my local non-franchise health food store. Go for it! And perhaps your dreams of being the Vegan Mrs. Fields just needed to be postponed for some reason, till the time was right. Maybe that time is now.

Are they wheat and potato free? If they are, then please bring them up to Washington. I've tried to find a decent wheat-free/potato-free cookies, and so far nothing has been very exciting. I'd consider paying a dollar a cookie for wheat-potato-free. Hope whatever becomes of your cookies, you get them to market, because quite frankly, the ones out there now suck. I can tell yours look delicious, and I'd eat them even if they had wheat-potato (just because I'm a cookie slut and will violate my no wheat-potato restriction).
