At noon today, I bid farewell to the Magic Bus. I have to admit that ever since I learned that the Magic Bus was leaving me, I have become rather nostalgic. And even somewhat melancholy. It's no secret how much I truly loved that bus. While it wasn't fancy and certainly wasn't built in this century, it was most definitely orange. A large part of my identity as a deadhead and a hippy and a lover of humanity was wrapped up in the aura of that little van that could. However, sometimes, as NakedMom likes to point out, a girl needs to be a grown up. Even if she becomes a grown up kicking and screaming the entire way there.
The Magic Bus has moved on to the very capable and loving hearts of Beatrice and Kragen. Who are going to take it on the grandest of all adventures. An adventure that makes me wish I could squish myself into one of the little compact compartments in the back of the van and go along for the ride. An adventure where the Magic Bus might just learn to speak Spanish. And where it will certainly have lots and lots of stories to share. A far better life than transporting muddy puppies back and forth to the beach and dog park, that's for sure.
Fare thee well, Magic Bus. Your grandest adventure has only just begun!

no way! Beatrice and Kragen!
small world....
